Travelling is all about moving from one geographic region to another for some purpose that can be best expressed by the traveller in question. Our elementary/primary school knowledge made usto understand that early-man was a wonder and a gatherer until the coming of agriculture. the early in search of better life, were travellers. The word is ‘greener pasture’ not ‘green pasture’.
This means if you have not seen green where you are, what makes you think you will see greener where you are going. One must be able to see green and know green before aiming for greener pasture.
More so, when we go look for greener pasture doesn’t mean we have nothing it should simply mean to us that we want to get more. Human nature always goes in for more. So far as you work for it and don’t trample on others, looking for more is natural instinct desire. We start dying the day we stop wanting to grow. From that moment stop aspiring to grow we start Fading until life leaves the body. The 7 things we must consider before going abroad are as follows;
1. Purpose of the travel
Failing after several attempts is a good reason to go look for greener pasture. When we say several attempts, we are not talking about doing the same thing the same way for many years. We mean that kind of dynamism that permit maximization of an opportunity. One must have tried where we are before aiming to move out. The purpose should be stronger than the any obstacle that comes your way.
2. Destination town
Our new destination should be town that is better than where we are. Not necessarily in all aspects but in the field in which we sick greener pasture. These town may have what we want but its occupants may not see it as you do.
Observe any town in this whole wide world where development was brought in by indigents of that community. The answer is simply very few. Why is this so for must towns particularly in the less developed world? Because familiarity is something very few people can resist.
We become so familiar that we can’t stop doing what we know from old. Familiarity kills the eyes of visionary thinking. Being familiar here means being used to what you see so much that you can’t give its rightful value. It is why some people keep telling the same story every day you meet them. They just can’t handle.
3. Documentation and formalities
We live in a world where there must be law and order. Whether we like it or not, law and order is the only reason we do our daily activities without a third party disturbing us. If one has to find greener pasture in a foreign land, one has got to comply formally and if possible, document everything for the sake of law and order.
It would be foolishness of the highest order not to conform to the laws that govern the land. Even Christ paid tax- not because of his values but because he would not often the kings of the world least they take Him-out before His time. This comes among other things that we need to know before the journey.
4. Cost of living
Before we find ourselves in a new area or Eldorado where our dreams are supposed to materials or come to pass, we must anticipate the living cost and prepare for that. Knowing the cost of living prepares us and makes us understand the task that lies ahead of us.
We must accept this and prepare to face it. If we deny this cost of living in a new place so as to enjoy its opportunities, we must not forget that we will eventually find ourselves in odd corners doing odd things. We can’t afford to be distracted about things we could have prevented. Budget some money that can keep you running for a while and safe yourself from embarrassment.
Money for renting a flat or an apartment. Know if you need to buy household equipment or the possibility of renting a completely furnished house with all you need included. Money to facilitate your transportation and purchase what you need and want at least until you gain some stability.
5. Customs and Culture
No man is an island and no people exist if they have nothing in common. We live with people and not machines and even if we are among machines we must understand man created them somehow some kind.
They manner in which people interact with each other should and must matter to us. Here we are not saying the customs and culture are correct or incorrect, we are simply saying the habits of these people should be taken into consideration. When we know, we know how to cope while preserving our own values. Avoid teasing and provoking people.
Do not be deceived to think you will set things right by opposing the ways in which people leave. Always remember that their way of living made people recognize it as Eldorado or a place for greener pasture
6. Engaging into the green pasture
While upholding the values of a people, you show obviously them respect. You cannot claim to show respect by defying people you could still show respect by avoiding scenarios where you defy norms.
Respect is the least thing you can offer while exploiting opportunities. One cannot like fruits from a tree and hate the tree. For if one truly hates the tree, one won’t eat from its fruits. It would be better avoid things you don’t like and go for things you like.
Don’t waste your energy cursing or criticizing instead praise that which you like for anything that one gives his attention to, so shall that person be.
7. Return time
When we find ourselves in a foreign land looking for greener pastures, we also should know if we have attained what we went for and return home. It is often said home is home and one can never find comfort in another man’s home. Well, that is also true but we should also know where we are coming from and not float like a life jacket in the middle of the ocean.
Every man has got roots that he has chosen and also have a resting place. Fix your return time alongside your dream. However, if we see no need to return, our return will be that-decision we have made which is to stay where we are.
On the other hand, once the objective is attained, do a small good bye party and return home and peruse your dreams.
Information is important to those who make use of it. Knowing means one can prepare and once we are prepared execution is just as easy as anything. As we forge ahead for better opportunities and in new places we should always remember where we come from.
